Voting Procedures
Today marks the moment for you to start sending in your nominees for the 2010 AAMBC Literary Awards. The 2010 AAMBC Literary Award Nominations are quickly approaching. The official nomination process will begin on November 1~ December 15, 2009. During this time period you will get the opportunity to nominate some of the greats who made a strong impact in 2009. The nomination process will grant the four highest nominated names as the official nod for the 2010 AAMBC Literary Award nominee. Starting after the first of the year the nominees will be announce and then let the voting begin. Voting will go on for a period of 60 days and end with the long awaited day till the winners are announced. Leading up to the 2010 AAMBC National Event the nominees will all make their historic stop on AAMBC Radio to talk about their projects and the honor of being nominated. The winners will be discovered and announced at the AAMBC National Conference in Chicago, IL on June 12, 2010.On June 14, 2010 Monday Morning the winners will officially be announced on air hosted by President Tamika Newhouse and the AAMBC Family.So what do you have to do to be nominated? Simply have people email your name and the category desired and if your name was nominated most you will be among the top four nominated. Publisher of the Year~ A Independent or Mass Market Publisher of more than three other authors.
AAMBC Author of the Year~ If you were a Book of the Month with AAMBC within 2009 this category only applies to you.
Literary Talk Show of the Year~ A Radio Show that interviews black writers on a weekly basis and can be pod casted or broadcasted through blog talk.
Book Reviewer of the Year~ A individual or group of people who review books and publish the review online for others to view.
Debut Author of the Year~ A new comer in 2009 whose first book came out between Jan. 1-Dec. 31st
Female Author of the Year and Male Author of the Year~ Any person who has a published book out currently.
Magazine of the Year~ Online or Print Magazine showcasing African Americans and relates to our society.
Blog of the Year~ A Professional Blog that showcases informational stories that relate to the black society and/or literarcy.
Book Club of the Year~ A group of readers three or more who meet at least six times a year to discuss a commonly read book.
Literary Event of the Year~ A event hosted annually and created for the sole purpose of showcasing black writers and their books.
Poet of the Year~ A person who writes and/or performs poetry.
Book Store of the Year~ A independent book store that caters to african american readership. This store has to be currently open to the public.
Graphic Designer of the Year~ A designer who creates at least one fo the following; book covers, literary web sites, author sites, book marks, banners, e blast, and post cards.
Publicist of the Year~ A person who is currently representing authors and writers in an effort to expose them to more readers.
